28 February 2014

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region is experiencing rapid transport development, with a whole host of urban development megaprojects planned or underway.

Across the whole region, from North Africa, to the countries of the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC), to Iran, several large-scale transport projects are set to change the face of public transport and urban development.

Some of the projects include:

  • GCC Railway project
  • Abu Dhabi surface transport policies
  • development of urban rail systems in Algeria
  • contracting metro and tram services in Dubai
  • Amman plans for BRT development
  • Casablanca tramway.

Against this backdrop, the UITP MENA Congress and Exhibition in Dubai from 27-30 April 2014 will take attendees on a journey through the modern city, covering all aspects of mass transport: legislation, regulations, design, building, implementation, financing, marketing, operation, innovation and vision. The exhibition will show the latest innovations developed by leading public transport manufacturers and suppliers.

The UITP MENA Congress and Exhibition is the largest public transport gathering in the MENA region and is designed for all specialists related to public transport.
